51.1 Vaginoplasty
This surgical procedure consists in tightening the vaginal opening and thickening of the vaginal mucosal walls. This original method concerns in most cases multiparus women but also young nulliparous women presenting with wide vagina without perineum lesions. The procedure is ambulatory, under local anesthesia or local regional anesthesia.
It starts with tightening of the muscles in the posterior perineum followed by a lipograft in the lateral walls of the vagina. The vaginoplasty technique consists in tightening the levator muscles of the anus (perineal posterior procedure). The muscles are individualized and joined by two O Vicryl suture.
The complications are rare, corresponding to any other surgical procedure in this very area, and have not jeopardized the final result.
