A 51-year-old woman presents to the Veterans Affairs (VA) dermatology clinic for the evaluation of central facial redness and flushing. She states that this began in her mid-30s and has progressively worsened over time. She notices it more during the summer after sun exposure. She relates associated symptoms of itching, dry skin, occasional burning and warmth with flushing. On examination, there is redness with telangiectasias on the dorsal nose, cheeks and chin (16a).
