Skin Manifestations of Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Cutaneous Manifestations


Erythema nodosum can be treated with compression stockings, topical potent steroids, and oral steroids in severe cases. Intralesional injection of triamcinolone is also effective. Metastatic Crohn’s disease is difficult to treat and requires systemic immunosuppressive agents such as azathioprine, prednisone, or infliximab. It is best treated by a multidisciplinary approach.
