5.2 Surgery


After sentinel node biopsy, the skin around the NAC was deepithelialized in a typical fashion. After incision of the dermis, the breast parenchyma around the tumor was dissected from the skin. Partial mastectomy was performed under palpable control of the tumor maintaining 2 cm macroscopic margins. The defect within the breast (Fig. 5.2
