Extensive necrosis of the anterior compartment of the leg (compartment syndrome), inducing a septicaemia with cardiac valve destruction and thrombosis of the ipsilateral femoral artery. In spite of several attempts of debridement and promotion of granulation tissue, below knee (BK) amputation was needed
