Histopathology
A shave biopsy of the outer groin was performed which measured 0.7 × 0.3 × 0.1 cm (Specimen A). The Periodic Acid-Schiff stain tested negative for fungus. Filamentous bacteria were seen in the stratum corneum (Fig. 17.2).
