Sarcoidosis

CASE 35

Sarcoidosis

QUESTION 35

A 45-year-old African American woman presents to the dermatology clinic with an eruption of bumps on the nose and cheeks. She has been otherwise healthy but was noted to have a serum calcium level of 11.9 mg/dL (reference range: 8.5–10.5 mg/dL) 3 weeks ago on routine laboratory testing at an annual well-adult visit. On examination, there are multiple erythematous, slightly violaceous papules on the nose and cheeks (35).
